Coefficients and calculation of the national minimum wage
According to the Territorial Work Chamber (ITM), the minimum coefficients for job grading are the following:
- workers:
- unskilled workers = 1; (minimum wage: 600 lei) – group 9 from COR (code starting with 9) – unskilled workers and apprentices
- skilled workers= 1,2 (minimum wage: 720 lei) – groups 5,6,7,8 (e.g. service and trade workers, workers in agriculture, silviculture and fishing)
- administrative personnel with jobs for which they need to be graduated from:
- secondary school = 1,2 (minimum wage: 720 de lei) – group 4 (e.g. administrative and financial clerks, office workers, PC operators, cashier, etc…)
- post secondary education = 1,25 (minimum wage: 750 de lei) – group 4 (e.g. primary accounting post secondary school)
- Specialized personnel with jobs for which they need to be graduated from:
- technical school = 1,3 (minimum wage: 780 de lei) – group 3 (ex. technicians and assimilated workers)
- short-term post secondary education = 1,5 (minimum wage: 900 de lei) – group 1 and 2 (college, sub-engineer)
- Personnel with jobs for which they need to be graduated from:
- university = 2, (minimum wage: 1200 de lei) – group 1 and 2 long-term higher education studies (e.g. engineers, economists, jurists, teachers etc...)
The job grading coefficients apply to the minimum wage negotiated at company level (which cannot go under 600 lei).
